My Story
Artist’s Statement
​
Barbara is a textile artist and a national and international educator, lecturer and tour leader.
She is a fellow of the Embroiderers’ Guild of South Australia and an active member of its Ethnic Embroidery Study group and its Museum Team. She is also a co- Convenor, Assessor and Mentor for the Guild’s Certificate and Advanced Certificate courses.
Barbara conducts classes for Embroiderers’, Quilters’ Guilds and Surface Designers’ throughout Australia and overseas; she specialises in Design, Colour, Composition, Layered Work and Hand Embroidery.
She is passionate about ethnic textile designs and techniques and whenever possible she travels to remote parts of countries where these techniques are practised. These inspire her work.
